This is an 4 evening (total 8 hours) introductory course to Spencerian Script - a historical style that was developed in America in the 1840's by Platt Roger Spencer. Studying Spencerian helps to improve your overall handwriting, its elegant and graceful style can be used for daily correspondences - from stationery designs, wedding invitations and much more.This course is tailored for complete beginners or calligraphers of any level to finesse their dip pen calligraphy skills.
Your instructor, Kalo is the first pen lady in Hong Kong to be awarded the Certificate of Proficiency and the Certificate of Excellence in Spencerian Script by the IAMPETH (International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting.)

Please BRING YOUR OWN TOOLS - your penholder (preferably oblique), your favourite nib (recommended Nikko G or Zebra G) and ink (recommended Walnut or Higgins Eternal Black or any dark coloured inks) OR purchase our Calligraphy Starter Kit here.

- Use of Tools - Inks
- Concepts of Movement
- Principle Strokes
- Majuscules (uppercase)
DAY 4
- Use of Tools - Paper
- Pressure for Shading + Hairline
- Majuscules (uppercase)
- Appreciation of Historical Writing - original pieces from the 1800s will be presented for study
